The Jacques-Doucet Literary Library (BLJD), inherited from designer Jacques Doucet, is a prestigious yet little-known institution among the public. Its collections, rich in manuscripts and rare works, reflect a quest for literary modernity and materiality that Doucet aimed to highlight. Despite a recent notoriety fueled by controversies regarding the management of its collections, the library continues to receive donations from contemporary writers. The General Inspection of Libraries and Education has been called upon due to serious allegations, leading to an administrative closure in 2022. In 2023, a provisional administrator was appointed to ensure the library's reopening, with plans for reorganization and a new scientific and cultural project. This process includes forming a new team and a review of the collections, crucial for restoring the credibility of the BLJD.
