    This text is a report of a conference titled "Education to Media and Information: a Challenge for School Education", presented at CLEMI (Centre for Education to Media and Information) on November 4, 2019. It covers the history of media and information education in France, the current challenges and future perspectives. It highlights the importance of media and information education in teacher training and school education. It also presents the project of a university degree (DU) in media and information education, which was set up by the digital team of the Inspectorate of Lyon.
